Command: COUNTIF

Syntax: =countif(data being used to match criteria, criteria)

Example: =countif(A:A,"Company 1")

Result in Excel: Excel will count however many cells in column A that are listed as "Company 1".

Useful for large data sets and easier to use than running lots of pivot tables.
