TEXT Function in Microsoft Excel
Command: TEXT
Syntax: =text(value or cell reference,format)
Use: typically imbedded in notes with “&”
Example: assume if cell A1 = 0.55
=”We only used “&text(A1,”#%”)&” of our cash to pay for the rides.”
Result in Excel: We only used 55% of our cash to pay for the rides.
Note that you must be “quotes” around the format that you want to use. Often used in footnotes so you don’t have to constantly check numbers
